Years ago after 2 back to back 12-step meetings on quitting porn, I had a relapse withing 30 minutes.
I couldn’t believe it, I was in shock. I was like how did this happen?
As I sat there on the couch I started to think “oh God, now I have to feel guilty” and it felt like a freight train barrelling down on me.
But in the moments before it hit me, I started to think “Wait a minute, I don’t have to feel guilty, I can choose how I want to feel.”
It was like I stepped back and that train flew by me.
I was again in shock. What just happened, how did I do that?
I thought I had invented something new. I thought I came up with that on my own.
But later on I realized that I had probably gotten it from one of the many self-help books and courses I was in.
That was a pivotal moment for me in quitting porn.
I knew from that moment on, that I had the power to choose how I felt about relapsing and even watching porn.
I knew I had the power to decide how I felt about it. I no longer felt powerless and that gave me hope that I could quit porn. That I could stop watching porn.
I didn’t watch porn that weekend which was different from every other weekend I had ever lived.
I enjoyed my weekend for once. I got outside in the sun and I was happy. I was overjoyed.
It took more years to finally quit but I never forgot that moment. I never forgot I could choose how I wanted to feel about it.
If you want to stop feeling guilty and stop watching porn, I have a webinar that will help you.
It’s called Never Watch Porn Again and I will show you the 3 steps you need to stop feeling guilty and watching porn.
