That’s the difference between feeling powerless and actually having control

An urge for porn is a feeling you have in your mind and body that is caused by the thoughts you think.

You see something and you automatically have thoughts about it and your mind and body respond as they were programmed to.

By that I mean all the times you saw something and responded with lust and desire and then masturbated to it, you were showing your brain how you want to respond to things like that.

You were training your brain to be on the lookout for content that matches what you like, with the promise of a huge dopamine reward at the end.

So now everytime it sees something like that, your brain is going to let you know about it. You’ll see something and your brain will be like “oh wow she’s HOT I want to ____” and then you’ll feel the physical sensations in your body.

It’s all caused by the thoughts in your head, not the woman or person or scene you were looking at. Those things are just videos of people performing sexual acts.

They’re no different than any other videos except they have a sexual meaning that we created in our heads.

If you show porn to someone who has no interest in it, they’re not going to get aroused or feel the physical sensations because it doesn’t mean anything to them. They have different thoughts about it than you do.

The fact that it’s created by your thoughts is really a good thing because that’s where your power is.

Your power is your ability to manage your thoughts about porn.

If porn itself created desire and lust it would have that effect upon everyone who watched it. But thankfully it’s all in our heads.

That’s the difference between feeling powerless and actually having control.
